Over the next four years, you will study, explore, and grow here, gradually shaping your professional direction and personal life goals.

Our college integrates interdisciplinary knowledge in biotechnology, medical applications, engineering technology, and healthcare management to respond to the real-world demands of today’s health, technology, and medical industries. If you are willing to commit yourself and embrace new challenges, I believe this will be a place where you can build solid skills, discover your potential, and develop strong competitiveness for the future.

University life offers great freedom, but with freedom comes responsibility. Whether you plan to pursue further studies or enter the workforce after graduation, I would like to share three expectations with you.

First, take good care of your health.
Develop regular exercise habits, avoid staying up late, and maintain a balanced daily routine. These may seem simple, but they form the foundation of all learning and personal growth. With good physical health and mental focus, you will find learning more efficient and challenges easier to handle.

Second, take your classes and learning seriously.
Put your phone aside during lectures and focus on your professional studies. Strong expertise is not built overnight; it grows through consistent attention and effort. At the same time, enjoy your extracurricular life. Participate in student clubs and expand your social network. These experiences help you develop communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, which are essential for your future.

Third, make full use of the resources provided by the university and the college.
Your mentors, professional faculty, research facilities, and project opportunities are all here to support your learning. If you already have plans for graduate study or employment, I strongly encourage you to participate in research projects with your professors. The process may be challenging, but the experience will become one of your most valuable assets.

Finally, in university, no one arranges everything for you. Self-discipline is your most important ability. By managing your time well, setting clear goals, and staying committed, you can turn freedom into a powerful force for personal growth.

I sincerely wish you a fulfilling, solid, and meaningful four years at Ming Chuan University—years in which you make choices without regret and move forward with confidence toward the future.

Once again, welcome to the School of Health and Medical Engineering. I look forward to witnessing your growth and transformation here.

Dean's Remarks

Wu, Hui-Chung (Joanna)
Dean of the School of Health and Medical Engineering

Dean Wu's words to freshmen

If I were a freshman again, what would I do? There are various possibilities for this question. Recalling my college life and my career experiences, I have some thoughts that I hope to share with you.

Make good use of campus resources

In addition to professional knowledge, there are many facilities and activities on campus, such as clubs, libraries, sports facilities, etc., which can provide diverse learning opportunities to broaden your horizons. For example, you can absorb the experience of the masters from various speech activities held in the University. You can train your ability and your attitude towards communication in the student activities. Ming Chuan University has abundant resources and a wide range of activities. Students can take advantage of these opportunities to increase their experience and broaden their horizons.

Cherish good teachers and helpful friends

After leaving the campus, I have benefited a lot from the network of good teachers and helpful friends who continue to meet again on various occasions. The students have a deep friendship, and the students in the club or other departments can let us know more about different fields and learning styles. These students will be good friends forever after graduation. In addition, interacting with professors more and consulting timely will be helpful for future career development in the workplace or career.

Pay attention to physical health

Only with a strong body can we study hard and participate in various activities. Students can find suitable sports during college, such as cycling, jogging, various ball games and so on. In college life, we spend a lot of time sitting in class or in front of the computer. Exercise is not only a physical exercise, but also a way to release stress, help you face challenges, and go a long way.

What do you think of the above ideas? Wish you all a fulfilling and happy university life in Ming Chuan University. See you on Ming Chuan Campus!

Dean’s RemarksShi-Huei HoVice President for Academic Affairs and Acting Dean of School of Health and Medical Engineering Dean Ho’s words to freshmenDear Freshmen, Congratulations on entering a brand-new stage of your life and becoming a university student!
